Bruno Rocca Langhe Nebbiolo Fralù 2022 1.5L MAG

90pts Vinous Media
"The 2022 Langhe Nebbiolo Fralu is an absolute delight. Lifted floral overtones and bright, red-toned fruit grace this translucent Langhe Nebbiolo. The 2022 spent 22 days on the skins, unheard of for a wine at this level, followed by nine months in neutral oak. Silky, polished tannins round things out in style."

About the Winery
Bruno Rocca is a boutique, family-run winery of about 12.5 hectares of vineyards in Barbaresco and Neive. In the 1970s, Bruno Rocca took over management of the vineyards and winemaking, with the aim to raise the quality of the wines produced and to make the most of the extraordinary family cru, Rabaj. Brunos goal is to respect an ecosystem that maintains a natural equilibrium that is protected from pollution and other factors that could alter its natural cycle. They do not use synthetic fertilizers or treatments, instead they prefer to encourage biodiversity.

In the cellar, they only select casks that have been seasoned for a minimum of 40 months, dried in the open air without mechanical means, and are suited to enhancing the natural evolution of their wines. Only native yeasts are used during fermentation. Clay and limestone soils are essential to cultivate a vineyard of Nebbiolo grapes for Barbaresco. The soil is characterized by white tuffaceous marl mixed with grey-blue marl with veins of sand: in other words, soil rich in limestone and microelements that is ideal for cultivating Nebbiolo.

Today, Bruno Roccas children Luisa and Francesco work alongside him in the family business, to keep faith in the family history and the land of origins; to respect the earth and cherish its vines; and to produce wine with an extraordinary balance between natures rhythms and the work of man.
