"Here's an exciting new wine from Bruno Rocca and his family (who make some of my favorite wines in Barbaresco). The 2021 Barbaresco Marcorino has a leading mineral note of crushed limestone. It gives the wine a powdery feel, but it doesn't take long for that to be enveloped or cushioned by tart forest berry and wild cherry. A note of blue flower is quite strong and reminds me of freshly cut violets. You also get hints of sweet almond and candied citrus. The Marcorino ages in French oak botti for 16 months. Only 2,000 bottles were created in this inaugural release." - ML
