Made from equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the 2021 Ciel du Cheval Vineyard was matured for 24 months in 30% new French oak. It bursts open with wonderfully pure aromas of cassis, lilac, aniseed and cast iron, and it continues to unfurl additional nuance as it spends time in the glass. The palate offers concentration without weight and Goldilocks ripeness. Its powdery tannins are balanced by juicy acidity, and it has a long, nuanced finish. A total of 415 cases were made, and the Ciel du Cheval will be released in February of 2026.
