R.H. Coutier Grand Cru Brut Nature Blanc de Blancs Pierre Aux Larrons 2016
95 points Vinous Media
The 2016 Brut Nature Blanc de Blancs Pierre Aux Larrons Grand Cru emerges from vines planted in 1948. All of that old-vine character comes through in a potent, resonant Champagne that his all the right notes. Ample and broad on the palate, with tons of pure presence, the 2016 is seriously impressive. I have tasted the 2016 several times—this is its best showing yet. No doubt the greater time on the lees between disgorgements has made a difference. Dosage is 2.5 grams per liter. Disgorged: September 2025; multiple disgorgements throughout the year.
Soil:composed by fine silts on the top with limestone (white chalk) subsoil.
Vinification:Aged one year in barrel, 100% malolactic fermentation, unfined and filtered
Aging:72 months sur lattes, Dosage 2.5 g/L; Disgorgement December 2024
Production: 3,000 bottles
