Snowden 'Brothers Vineyard' Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Snowden 'Brothers Vineyard' Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Dense, concentrated, yet undeniably classic in style, this vineyard designated Cabernet Sauvignon was produced from grapes grown in a favored two acre block at 850 feet of elevation on our property on the eastern slope of the Napa Valley between St. Helena and Rutherford.  (The block is one of several on the property where wine grapes have been growing continuously since the late 1870s.)  The 2022 is bold yet fruit-forward and approachable.  Winemaker Diana Snowden Seysses describes the wine as "full, rich, and an outstanding representation of its site"-- a site which in its last several vintages has twice produced wines named by The Wine Spectator to its world-wide list of the Top 100 wines of the year.  The Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested on September 10, 2022, and blended with 1% Petit Verdot picked two days later.  Fermented by wild, native yeasts, the wine was aged for 18 months in French oak, 30% new, and bottled unfined on April 29, 2024.

The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Brothers Vineyard is the deepest and most complete of the three Cabernets at Snowden in 2022. Dark cherry fruit, leather, mocha, cedar and sweet spice all build in the glass, filling out the layers effortlessly. Here, too, the balance is commendable, especially considering what was possible in 2022.   - By Antonio Galloni on November 2025
