Chateau du Cedre Marcel Malbec 2023

Chateau du Cedre Marcel Malbec 2023

Malbec – Southwest France

Crafted from organically farmed vineyards in the Southwest of France, this Malbec grows in limestone, clay, and silica‑clay soils on the second and third terraces of the Tarn, just outside Toulouse. The grapes are fully destemmed and crushed, then undergo a slow fermentation at 28°C. A 15‑day maceration with gentle punch‑downs builds depth and structure, followed by eight months of ageing in concrete tanks. The wine is only lightly filtered before bottling to preserve purity and texture.

Sustainability Commitment The estate began its organic certification process in 2009 and, after three years of conversion, released its first certified organic wine in 2012. Today, organic and sustainable practices remain central to its philosophy.

Tasting Profile Full‑bodied and velvety, this Malbec offers a round, supple texture with a long, subtly spicy finish. It pairs beautifully with roasted meats, game dishes, and mature cheeses.
